Job summary

King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust seeks an Unit Manager to lead the Chartwell Chemotherapy and Haematology Day Units across PRUH and South Sites. The role focuses on safe cancer treatment delivery, staffing, patient flow and service performance, combining management with clinical shifts in collaboration with oncology, pharmacy and site teams.

Significant post-registration oncology/haematology experience and a recognised SACT qualification are required.

Qualifications

• First degree or equivalent level of experience or qualification.
• Post-registration qualification in oncology, haematology or cancer care.
• Recognised SACT training or accredited SACT course.
• Mentorship or assessor qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible clinical leadership and expert resource for staff and MDT.
• Ensure safe delivery of SACT and supportive treatments per policy and standards.
• Lead haematology supportive care including blood product support and line care.
• Lead management of SACT toxicities and emergencies.
• Oversee day-to-day running of both units, patient flow and capacity.
• Lead, coach and manage nursing, healthcare and admin teams.
• Ensure staff competency and ongoing clinical development.
