Job summary

Bupa is hiring a Clinical Unit Manager for Wingham Court Care Home in Claygate. The role leads a team of nurses and care assistants, delivering person-centred care to residents aged 18–70 with neurological conditions and brain injury, while maintaining high standards and accurate records.

The post requires an NMC-registered nurse with leadership experience and strong communication skills to mentor staff and foster community relationships within the home.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin and commitment to the NMC Codes of Conduct.
  • Experience leading a team of nurses and care assistants.
  • Strong communication skills with residents and families.
  • Ability to mentor, delegate and promote excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Promote residents’ independence, choice and dignity while maintaining high care standards.
  • Assess residents’ wellbeing and ensure physical, emotional and social needs are met with accurate records.
  • Provide clinical guidance and lead the team to ensure safe, smooth operations.
  • Build relationships with residents, families and the local community to raise the home’s profile.
  • Foster partnerships with local providers and ensure quality care across shifts.

Job description

Job Description: Clinical Unit Manager- Wingham Court Care Home, Oaken Lane, Claygate, Esher KT10 0RQ. CQC rating: Good Carehome.co.uk rating: 9.8/10 Salary: Up to £26.00. per hour depending on experience Permanent 48 hours per week 8am-8pm shifts in the home. The candidate must be expereinced in leading a team of Nurses and Care Assistants. Ideally the applicant will have experience working with younger adults aged 18 to 70. with long term neurological conditions and Brain Injury. You’ll help us make health happen by:
  • Whether you’re taking charge of a unit or a floor, you’ll promote our resident’s independence, choice and dignity by ensuring that the team provide the highest standards of care at all times
  • With the help of your team, you’ll assess each resident’s wellbeing – making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met – always maintaining accurate records
  • Delivering clinical guidance to your team, you’ll lead by example; motivating and mentoring the team to ensure the safe, smooth and efficient running of the care home
  • You’ll build lasting relationships with the residents and the people they care about, as well as caring about the home itself - fostering a sense of community
  • Creating and developing strong relationships with local partners, you will liaise with these partners, playing an important role in raising the care home’s profile in the local area and beyond
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
  • A Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin and a genuine commitment to adhering to the NMC Codes of Conduct and expanding your professional development
  • You’re passionate about caring for the elderly and infirm (change as necessary) and have a flair for helping people maintain their independence, choice and dignity
  • An effective communicator who’s able to build strong and honest relationships with residents and their families
  • Someone who’s ready to use their clinical experience to lead, motivate and mentor a team – who’s able to delegate effectively and promote excellent customer service and relationships.
  • A respectful and compassionate team player with the belief in giving your personal best.
