Job summary

Leeds General Infirmary is recruiting a Non-Rotational Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Clinical Trials) to join the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team. The role is based at LGI with opportunities to work on cardiology, neurosciences, paediatric medicine and paediatric oncology trials, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in clinical trials is desirable; training will be provided.
• Based at Leeds General Infirmary with rotations across medical and surgical areas.
• Collaborate with pharmacy colleagues, research teams and trial sponsors to ensure trials are set up in a timely manner in accordance with GCP.

Responsibilities

• Validate and process clinical trial prescriptions in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
• Support the existing clinical trials pharmacists in review of new trials.
• Identify medicines management issues related to proposed trials before pharmacy support.
• Proactively manage each trial through setup, including templates and aseptic setup where appropriate.
• Review protocol amendments and related documents.
• Liaise with research teams to align priorities and recruitment targets.
• Deliver training to and support development of Foundation and Trainee Pharmacists in all aspects of clinical trials and IMP management.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement using the Leeds Improvement Method.
