An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated pharmacy technician to join our busy and dynamic pharmacy team. The post holder will work as part of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team, supporting the clinical trials service in line with standard operating procedures, good clinical practice (GCP) and relevant legislative requirements.
The role requires excellent organisation, time management and interpersonal skills. The post holder will have the opportunity to drive key changes and improvement to the service.
Collaborative work with the pharmacy team and multi-disciplinary teams across the trust and region will be essential in this role.
• Support the management of clinical pharmacy services at Whittington Health in conjunction with the Clinical Trials Pharmacist, Cancer Services Pharmacist and other members of the team.
• Be responsible for Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) management, including receipt, dispensing, handing out, returns, temperature excursion reports, and any other activities deemed appropriate by the Clinical Trials Pharmacist.
• Ensure that IMPs for clinical trials are managed according to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain all clinical trials records in line with standard operating procedures, GCP and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Develop and review departmental clinical trial work and standard operating procedures.
• Identify and manage risks associated with the use of IMPs in clinical trials.
• Work with members of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team and Research and Development (R&D) team to review and assess the operational and clinical resource needed to open and run trials.
• Attend site initiation visits, sponsor monitoring visits, and close out visits.
• Support the Aseptic team in the management of Oncology, Haematology and other clinical trials related to their clinical areas.
• Formulate and recover pharmacy charges for clinical trials
• Support gathering and reporting of KPI information for benchmarking and identify any variations or concerns for discussion with Pharmacy Senior Team and R&D Team.
