Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Support Worker to join its clinical trials team within the hospital pharmacy. It offers 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rotational basis.

The role includes dispensing and drug accountability in a busy aseptic and main dispensary setting. Previous pharmacy experience is desirable; NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services is preferred, with progression to Band 3 after

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy experience is desirable.
• Applicants without an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services will be initially appointed as a Band 2 and upon achievement of this qualification, will gain promotion to Band 3.

Responsibilities

• Work according to study protocols, SOPs, GCP, departmental and Trust policies.
• Collaborate with the pharmacy clinical trials team to improve the clinical trials service.
• Communicate effectively within the team, and with the wider pharmacy department, clinical trial research teams and external sponsor representatives.
• Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the clinical trials service.
• Assist in preparation of chemotherapy and dispensing of inpatient and discharge medication within the main dispensary.
