Job summary

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking an experienced Medical Technical Officer to join the clinical trial laboratory team at the CRF.

You will assist in providing a professional service, maintain SOPs, calibrations, and support day-to-day operations across CRF sites with rotating shifts.

The role requires strong laboratory knowledge, safe practices, and the ability to work with complex instruments to deliver accurate data for studies.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs (A-C) including Maths and English.
• Foundation degree in a science subject.
• Knowledge of a range of laboratory procedures.
• IT skills including MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment under supervision.
• Support turnaround times of samples with lab staff.
• Process samples per study protocols.
• Perform technical duties per protocols, including packing & dispatching samples.
• General lab duties and inventory management.
• Specialist training in containment and safety practices.
• Liaise with hospital staff.
• Handle complex sample processing with multiple aliquots.
