Job Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Trials Assistant to join the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Manchester Clinical Research Facility (CRF) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting duties across all Manchester Clinical Research Facilities, including the Oxford Road Campus, North Manchester General Hospital, and Wythenshawe Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist with the administration of research projects within R&I in conjunction with the Clinical Trials Manager. Close liaison is required between the research team, MFT Research Office and the Local Clinical Research Network.
- To administer research projects in conjunction with study leads, senior investigators, research nursing staff and the R&IM.
- To provide administrative assistance to senior staff R&I for study management purposes across R&I as required.
- To provide administrative support for invoicing, travel expenses and other financial transactions, including ordering supplies.
- To liaise with internal departments, such as R&D, pharmacy, labs and radiology, to set up studies, collect data and notify of study closure.
- To be able to organise own time and workload with prioritisation.

Education
Essential criteria
- GCSE/O level Maths and English or equivalent
- Educated to at least NVQ 3 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Administrative qualifications
- ECDL
Knowlegde and Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and other packages.
- Experience of office administration.

- Demonstrable IT skills, including ability to maintain spreadsheets and databases efficiently and effectively.
- Good organisational abilities, with a methodical approach and the ability to pay attention to detail.
