The Research Nurse/Clinical Trials Practitioner is an autonomous specialist working within the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will be responsible for the coordination and management of a clinical research portfolio comprising in-house, national, and international phase II and III clinical trials in oncology malignancies.
Responsibilities include educating patients and colleagues, coordinating patient care on trials, collecting and preparing biological samples, collecting trial data, and monitoring side effects of treatments. The post holder will develop specialized skills related to clinical trials and relevant disease sites, and will be expected to inform and advocate for patients considering trial participation.
The role is clinically based, supporting research in Gastrointestinal Oncology, with cross-cover for other tumor areas.
