Job Opportunity: Clinical Psychologist

A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Clinical Psychologist to work in an excellent purpose-built care home based in the Workington, Cumbria area. You will be working for one of the UK's leading healthcare providers.

This service provides care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder, and/or complex conditions such as mental health issues, personality disorders, and challenging behaviors.

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered with the HCPC
  • Must be BPS accredited
  • Must be a Chartered Member of the BPS

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the assessment of referrals and provide initial assessment for service users referred to the service.
  2. Undertake high-quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions, making autonomous clinical decisions.
  3. Work therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
  4. Formulate and implement plans for psychological treatment or management of patients' mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based practices.
  5. Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice.
  • Experience applying psychological knowledge to clinical/neuro settings.
  • Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits.
  • Previous experience conducting research and project work.

Salary and Benefits:

The successful Clinical Psychologist will receive an excellent salary of £70,000 per annum. This is a permanent full-time role working daytime hours. Benefits include:
