Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Team Manager to join the Scarborough Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) Community & Memory Team.

Scarborough MHSOP Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) and Memory Team offer specialist assessments, person-centred treatment and strength-based care, monitoring, and support to older people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness and dementia. The Team also provides support and education to families, unpaid and paid carers.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for the post holder to work in partnership with other internal and external teams, including Social Care, Primary Care and the Voluntary Sector. The successful candidate should demonstrate well-developed leadership skills along with the ability to motivate a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality, safe and effective care and treatment programs in collaboration with our service users, their carers/family and provider partners.

In addition, the expectation is that the professional in this post will maintain a positive attitude and strong commitment to results, engendering a culture that champions the equality and rights for this often-disadvantaged client group.A good understanding of continuous improvement, transforming care principles and how this applies to the service user group and underpins service delivery is key.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:
  • be responsible for the safe & effective daily operational management of the multidisciplinary teams.
  • be responsible for the daily line management of all team members (appraisals, personal development planning & training, management of sickness absence, performance management, recruitment & selection decisions).
  • ensure high-level planning and prioritisation of departmental workload to achieve agreed team targets and objectives.
  • lead practice and service development initiatives to promote a culture of transparency and learning and ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • be able to demonstrate a confident ability to work positively and collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • role model good team visibility and presence on site at Cross Lane Hospital.
