Main duties of the job

We'd like you to join us as a Clinical Team Leader - RMN at our Kings Norton service in Birmingham. Kings Norton Hospital is a purpose-built adult mental health service with capacity for 32 people. The Hospital supports adults of all genders with severe and complex mental health conditions. In this state-of-the-art hospital we provide high quality intensive treatment, in a clinically safe, caring and secure environment. We are looking for nurses to join our passionate team and help those with complex needs live their best life.

Job responsibilities

What you'll be working:

  • 37.5 Hours will be worked on a rota basis
  • Long days and Nights

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide clinical leadership to nursing team and ensure the provision of high quality.
  • Ensure high quality individualised person-centred standards of care are delivered to all patients.
  • Ensure the effective supervision and development of staff.
  • Work and act as a key member of the team, supporting each patient with achieving their planned outcomes.
  • Act as the lead nurse in the assessment, implementation of care through to point of discharge.
  • Take charge of clinical area.
  • Take a lead on developing and maintaining communication with patients relatives, families and carers, to support them to support patients goals.
  • Adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24 hour period.
  • To ensure on each shift the effective provision of supervision and support is given to the nursing team as appropriate.
  • To lead and manage allocated resources effectively through efficient resource allocation, skill mixes, roster management, and utilisation of equipment and authorisation of bank/agency staff as designated by senior nursing management team.
  • To participate in clinical audit, clinical risk and quality issues, including the management and reporting of incidents.
  • To deputise for the manager as and when required.

What you'll have:

  • A current NMC Pin registration (Registered Mental Health Nurse)
  • A legal right to work in the UK
