Job description

Clinical Team Leader, Perinatal Mental Health Service

The closing date is 10 October 2025. Location - North West Essex. The post holder may be required to work across Essex and/or in any location in the Trust area.

The post holder will contribute to facilitating the transformation of the perinatal service to meet best practice standards including NICE Guidelines Antenatal and Postnatal Mental Health (2014) and Royal College of Psychiatrist Quality Network Standards 6th edition 2020.

As a clinical lead within a team, you will bring with you a range of knowledge and experiences and have an established community mental health service knowledgebase.

Main duties of the job

The Essex Perinatal Mental Health Service is a growing team of skilled and compassionate professionals who have successfully established a new specialist service in the community across the county over the last three years and we are again expanding further to meet the needs of more women across Essex.

The service operates from five Hubs across Essex with a north facing and south facing team concept, providing a stepped-care model of specialist assessment and intervention for women at risk of moderate or serious mental illness or complex disorders within the county of Essex.

Job responsibilities
  • Manage and lead the multi-professional team in the delivery of safe and effective evidence-based interventions.
  • Will be required, when needed to hold a small caseload.
  • Deliver a service within the agreed financial envelope ensuring maximum value in term of clinical and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure that a culture of effective risk management is present in the team.
Person Specification
  • RMN or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Qualification at degree level or equivalent.
  • Evidence of continuing professional and personal development.
