Clinical Team Leader (Cardiac Ward)

Cromwell Hospital, Kensington, SW5 0TU

Part Time (23hrs)

Pro-Rata Salary: - £27,787-£32,875pa

The Clinical Team Leader has delegated responsibility for managing the clinical areas, including assessing care needs, developing, implementing, and evaluating care programs, and setting standards on a shift basis and in the absence of the Deputy Matron.

The Clinical Team Leader supports the Deputy Matron in ward team management, promoting an environment conducive to individual and team development, ensuring high standards of patient care aligned with clinical governance.

This role requires being easily identifiable, accessible, and a key contact for patients and families seeking assistance, advice, or support. The Clinical Team Leader works as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to medical patients, assessing their needs and overseeing care programs.

  • Use your knowledge and experience to model best practices and elevate clinical care standards.
  • Provide leadership, maintaining visibility and accessibility to patients and staff.
  • Identify care delivery deficits and implement improvement programs.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, carers, and the multidisciplinary team, adhering to information sharing guidelines.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Matron as needed and develop your career scope.
  • Demonstrate the ‘Six C’s’: care, compassion, competence, communication, courage, and commitment.
  • Undertake internal leadership and management development courses.
  • Work with the Deputy Matron to ensure adherence to legislative standards, including CQC, HSE, DSE, Fire, COSHH, BLS, Safeguarding, Information Security, Infection Control, and Blood Transfusion protocols.
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • Senior Staff Nurse with BSc or working towards it.
  • Teaching/assessing qualification.
  • ILS/ALS certification as relevant.
  • Proven clinical experience in the relevant area and ability to operate at the required level.
  • Experience in implementing change and leading innovation in practice.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Negotiating and influencing abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with a broad perspective.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
