About Nightingale House

Nightingale House is a 13-bedded, mixed gender rehab unit within walking distance to Westbourne shops and the beach. We support individuals with chronic mental health problems that may be treatment resistant, often providing a stepping stone for those who have previously spent long periods in hospital.

Our goal is to facilitate a seamless transition from inpatient care into the community, supporting recovery through activities like self-medication, independent living skills such as cooking, shopping, and budgeting, and encouraging access to community activities.

Our Vision

We aim to provide a fully integrated service with the local community and its resources.

Role Requirements
  • Registered professional passionate about developing an outstanding service.
  • Induction and varied training opportunities provided.
  • Full-time (37.5 hours/week) role covering days, nights, and weekends on rotation.
  • Fixed-term position. NHS staff should seek permission for secondment before applying.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Ward Manager in delivering high-quality nursing care and treatment.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, families, carers, and community professionals to facilitate patient discharge and community reintegration.
  • Help individuals acquire or regain skills and confidence for independent living.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships and engage patients collaboratively to meet their goals.
