Job description

We are seeking a Clinical Team Leader to join Harbour Ward at St Ann's Hospital. This leadership role offers opportunities to demonstrate your expertise, improve services, and provide hands-on care to service users.

Harbour Ward: A 16-bed male treatment ward providing care for a range of mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and emotionally unstable personality disorder. The patient age range is 18 to 64.

The multidisciplinary team on Harbour is supportive, knowledgeable, and skilled, with responsibilities including:

  • Treating informal and detained patients using engagement, talking therapies (CBT/DBT), and medication
  • Focusing on patient-centered recovery
  • Engaging creatively with patients to co-produce care plans
  • Prioritizing mental and physical health
  • Encouraging activity, healthy eating, and wellbeing
  • Promoting least restrictive practices in a safe environment

This role includes a £1,500 (pro rata) Recruitment Premium on start and a £1,500 (pro rata) Retention Premium annually, paid monthly, subject to review.

Clinical Team Leaders have dual clinical and leadership responsibilities, acting as deputies to the Ward Manager. They manage ward operations, advise staff, and support staff supervision. They also lead in delivering local and national outcomes.

Requirements include experience as an RMN, completion of supervisor and assessor training, and a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course, which must be completed successfully before starting.

An Enhanced DBS check is required, with costs covered by the Trust. Applicants subscribed to the DBS update service can present a valid certificate.
