Job description

  • Earn $109,730 – $132,764 per year plus super (VPS 5).

Western Plains is a new state-of-the-art, maximum-security correctional facility in the Barwon South West region. The staff here are dedicated to helping people in our care build the skills and self-confidence needed to make positive contributions to the community.

What you will do:

As a clinical team leader at Western Plains, you will lead the strategic direction, policy development, and service delivery for disability and complex needs services.

You will:

  • Manage and supervise a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists and disability practitioners.
  • Provide expert clinical oversight, ensuring best-practice interventions and risk management.
  • Engage with custodial staff, forensic clinicians, and external agencies to coordinate care and services.
  • Oversee assessments, clinical programs, and the integration of NDIS-related services within corrections.
  • Ensure there is accurate data reporting and contribute to staff training and professional development.

To apply, you will need to hold – or be eligible for – one of the following:

  • General registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Be credentialed as a mental health nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Registration as an occupational therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
