Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the Single Point of Access (SPA) Team within CAMHS. The post requires registration with NMC, SWE, or HCPC and substantial experience in mental health services.
The role focuses on clinical and operational leadership at the SPA front door, with risk assessment, decision-making support, and effective referral management.
CAMHS is seeking to appoint an experienced, compassionate, and highly skilled Band 7 Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our dynamic Single Point of Access (SPA) Team. We welcome applications from registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, or Occupational Therapists who are passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
As a senior practitioner within the SPA team, you will provide clinical, operational leadership and oversight at the front door of CAMHS, ensuring referrals are managed safely, effectively, and in line with service thresholds. The role involves supporting colleagues with complex clinical decision-making, risk assessment and management, demand and capacity oversight, and the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
The Single Point of Access is a vital part of the CAMHS front door that acts as the first point of contact for children, young people, families, and professionals seeking mental health support for children and young people. Through the provision of timely, high-quality triage and assessment of referrals, you will help ensure that young people experiencing mental health difficulties receive access to the most appropriate services and interventions at the right time.
You must hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), Social Work England (SWE), or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have substantial experience working within mental health services.
