It is suitable for those between core medical and higher training, or a higher specialist trainee as an Out of Programme for Experience with an interest in Medical Education. Main duties of the job

ACUTE RESPIRATORY CARE UNIT - 2.5 days

You will spend 2.5 days per week on the ARCU at QMC Campus, balancing teaching responsibilities with a varied clinical role. The unit manages level 1 and 2 patients with respiratory and other medical conditions, including respiratory failure requiring NIV. Note: The unit cares for patients with Covid infection, including NIV and high flow oxygen; management of these patients is expected, with full PPE provided.

You will review and discuss possible admissions from ED, wards, and step-downs from ICU. The ARCU hosts a consultant of the week with a background in Respiratory Medicine or Critical Care, providing an excellent opportunity for gaining experience in these areas prior to ST3 training.
