A leading health board in the UK is seeking a Clinical Teaching Fellow in Gastroenterology to start in August 2025. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to engage in medical education while providing clinical care, with support available for postgraduate qualifications. The role involves teaching medical students and working closely with experienced staff in a vibrant healthcare environment.
Applications are invited for a Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) post in Gastroenterology with an anticipated start date of 6th August 2025.
This post is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension by a further 12 months. It offers an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking doctor with a strong interest in medical education. Support may also be available to pursue a postgraduate medical education qualification.
The post is full-time, comprising 10 sessions per week, with a balance of 50% teaching and 50% clinical work. Any out-of-hours work will be paid as a supplement, as agreed by the Clinical Board.
The postholder will work at both the University Hospital of Wales (UHW) and University Hospital Llandough (UHL).
Teaching is a major component of the role. The successful postholder will collaborate closely with the Specialty Lead and Department of Medical Education to deliver evidence-based undergraduate education to Cardiff University School of Medicine students following the C21 curriculum. The postholder will also benefit from holding an honorary contract with Cardiff University with the title of Honorary Lecturer.
Clinical time will be spent working in Gastroenterology, with the timetable arranged to suit the appointee's stage in training.
