We have an exciting opportunity to join our wards based in Suffolk. We are looking for Band 3 Clinical Support Workers who are passionate about recovery-led care with a focus on promoting least restrictive practice.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across three of our Wedgwood wards on a rotation: our two adult inpatient wards, Southgate and Northgate, and Abbeygate, our older people inpatient ward.

Main duties of the job

You should be enthusiastic and conscientious, committed to providing the best care to our service users. We seek individuals who demonstrate compassion, empathy, and sensitivity, especially when engaging with distressed or challenging patients.

Our primary focus is on collaborative working, emphasizing the assessment/recovery model through assessment tools aligned with patient-centered care.

Your duties will include:
  • Spending 1:1 time with service users
  • Providing direct patient care, including personal care and promoting daily living activities
  • Understanding mental health diagnoses and presentations, including maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Undertaking therapeutic observations of all service users
  • Supporting service users on a 1:1 basis with varying support needs
  • Undertaking physical management training for violence and aggression
  • Performing physical health observations and COVID swabbing
  • Taking service users on leave in the community
  • Collaborating with families and carers
  • Supporting cross-departmental work within the acute pathway as required
