An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiasticexperiencedCSWto join the Trauma & OrthopaedicsOutpatientsteam, working between bothRussellsHall Hospital and CorbettOutpatients Centre.The service runs Monday- Friday(08:30-18:00)withadditional weekend and evening clinics running occasionally.

This is a great opportunity to gainknowledge orbuild on your current knowledge and experience. You will beworking in both elective orthopaedic,trauma orthopaedicas well asvirtual clinics.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Support Worker will work together with members of the Nursing / Midwifery team and contribute to the implementation of a high standard andindividualisedpatient care under the direction of a registered nurse.

The post holderwillbe required tocommunicate effectively with other members of the health care team, patients and relatives andmust be able torecogniseand report to the appropriate personanychanges in the patient’s condition which may require the intervention of others.

The post holder will be assessed on appointment on their level of competence and required as part of the Trusts training and developmentprogrammefor clinical support workers to undertake a structured pathway of development to include basic skills and in house developmentprogramme.

Qualifications & Education

  • English and Maths Qualifications at one of the following academic levels/grades:- O Level - Grade A to C CSE Grade 1 only GCSE Grade A to C GCSE Grade 9 to 4 Functional skills Level 2
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health Care

Knowledge & Training

  • Demonstrate knowledge of duties required as a Clinical Support Worker

Experience

  • Previous experience of caring for people in a care worker role within hospital, community or Residential Nursing Home setting

Communication & Relationship Skills

  • Clear communication skills, oral and written

Qualifications & Education

  • Care Certificate

Knowledge & Training

  • Commitment to undertake In-House training
  • Willingness to undertake NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare, as appropriate
  • Willingness to undertake care certificate
