Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Same Day Emergency Care department to welcome a new Clinical Support Worker to our team.

Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) is a fast-paced, rapid assessment unit for medical patients referred by the Emergency Department (ED), hospital wards, and primary care. The unit aims to deliver high-quality care within the same day to avoid hospital admissions when safe and reduce ED attendances, ensuring patients receive the right care in the right place.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, eager to learn new skills, approachable, and positive.

As a Clinical Support Worker, your duties will include prioritizing patient care, performing basic observations, measuring patient weights, blood glucose levels, and conducting urinalysis. You will also undertake more complex tasks such as phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, collating patient history, and assisting with assessments.

Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT) cares for populations across Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Leeds, and parts of the North East. We are committed to providing outstanding care to our patients and staff, valuing kindness, integrity, teamwork, and equality. If you're seeking a rewarding career in the NHS where you can make a real difference, HDFT could be the right place for you!

We Offer Colleagues:
