Amore Complex Care are looking for fun and outgoing support workers to support a gentleman in his 40s, who has a diagnosis of Neurodegeneration.

Meet the person you’ll be supporting:
  • Who am I? I am a gentleman in my 40's.
  • What activities do I do? I love watching movies, series and documentaries on CSI, Criminal Minds, and Superheroes. I am also a big Manchester City Fan.
  • What challenges do I have? My mobility is very restricted and I require assistance with my hoist and sling. My speech is also affected by my condition and is limited. I communicate mainly through hand signals and head movements. I also have a PEG and require my medication through this.
  • What types of people do I get along with? Bubbly and chatty people who can match my energy. I am non-verbal, so I also get on well with people who can be patient with my communication. If my staff are funny, we will get on just fine.
My team
  • How many people support me at one time? 2:1 staffing ratio during the day, and 1:1 for night shifts.
  • What shift patterns do my team do? Long day sleeps.
  • What are my team trained in? My staff will get a bespoke training course specifically to cover my needs.
Job responsibilities
  • Assisting with goal-oriented activities and daily living skills.
  • Monitor the service user's physical and emotional well-being.
  • Assisting with personal care.
  • Supporting with sensory needs.
  • Provide person-centred support.
  • Support with household duties, such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Assist the individual in developing and maintaining positive relationships in the community.
