Overview

Day Surgery

Our ideal candidates will be empathetic, caring and compassionate. You will also be reliable, self motivated and able to work as a member of the team assisting all staff in the daily running of the day surgery unit and providing high standards of care to patients pre and post surgery.

Previous experience in a health care setting is desirable although orientation, training and supervision will be provided. Basic IT skills are beneficial.

Queen Victoria Hospital offers developmental opportunities for Clinical Support Workers. You will be enrolled on the Care Certificate with the opportunity to apply for the various apprenticeship programmes.

The Clinical Support Workers work as part of the team with the supervision of registered practitioners to provide effective, safe patient focused care at all times.

Contribute to the development of the care environment with a positive, professional attitude.

Contribute to the maintenance of daily provision of service and care to meet the individual needs of patients and department.

To support the smooth running of the department and ensure patients, relatives and carers are dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner.

You will ensure that policies and guidelines are adhered to.

Clinical roles
  • The Clinical Support Worker; Higher Level will work as part of the team with minimal supervision of registered practitioners to provide effective and safe patient centred care with the additional responsibility of undertaking a range of delegated clinical care duties, such as basic observations, blood glucose monitoring.
  • Contribute to the development of the care environment with a positive, professional attitude.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of daily provision of service and care to meet the individual needs of patients and department.
