Clinical Support Worker - Mental Health Team

Job summary

The Clinical Support Worker will work under the supervision of the Specialist Registered Nurse for Mental Health (RMN) to provide enhanced care for patients with mental health needs or cognitive impairment.

Main duties of the job

  • Supporting patients with cognitive impairment or mental health needs whilst in hospital
  • Providing enhanced care observations
  • Working collaboratively with the acute health care teams to ensure patients' needs are met

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4, or Functional Skills equivalent
  • Care Certificate (or willing to work towards)

Desirable

  • 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above, or equivalent
  • Evidence of training in Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire safety, etc.
  • Education/training to NVQ level 3 or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience in a health or social care environment, delivering personal care or health care through education

Desirable

  • Experience working in the NHS
