We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and motivated Clinical Support Workers to join the Emergency Department at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. Previous acute care experience is preferred but not essential, as training and support will be provided.

Our department has recently expanded to include streaming and rapid assessment at the front door, enhancing the patient experience and journey, which you will be involved in. We also cover Minor Injury treatment, open from 8am to 8pm.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Support and assist Registered Nurses in providing nursing care within defined parameters.
  2. Record patient information accurately.
  3. Provide basic patient care and document it in patient records.
  4. Perform clinical observations.
  5. Assist with minor injury treatments and plaster casts.

We operate across three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, along with community health facilities including Millom Hospital, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and RLI offer comprehensive emergency services, critical care, and specialist consultant-led services. WGH provides general hospital services, an Urgent Treatment Centre, and manages non-life-threatening conditions such as fractures and minor illnesses.

All sites provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapeutic, day case, and inpatient surgical services, along with outreach services across Morecambe Bay.
