Clinical Support Worker – Breast Unit

We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate clinical support worker to join our dynamic Breast Unit team. The post holder will work across all group sites and will provide support to consultants, radiologists and radiographers to ensure the best quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up clinical rooms for ultrasound imaging and invasive procedures.
- Assist patients with preparation for imaging and support during procedures.
- Chaperone patients during imaging and interventional procedures.
- Assist consultants with drainage and aspiration procedures when required.
- Provide after‑care and wound dressing for patients.
- Support efficient patient flow through breast clinics to enhance patient experience.
- Communicate effectively with the breast team to maintain a safe and efficient patient pathway.
- Travel independently between all group sites on a rotational basis.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a clinical support role is desirable but not essential.
- Consideration may be given to interview candidates who do not have the full qualifications; they will be employed at a Band 2 until qualified.
Working Hours
The post is advertised as up to 37.5 hours per week. Applicants seeking to work less than full time will be considered in line with the successful applicant’s needs.
Additional Information
- Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance is required for new hires and will be paid for by the Trust through salary deduction from the first month’s pay.
- All new employees must complete a satisfactory 6‑month probationary period, with some exemptions for internal applicants or bank staff.
