Clinical Support Worker
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,349 (pro rata)
18.5 hours per week
We are looking for a highly motivated, hard working, enthusiastic colleague to work in our busy Radiology department. This position would be particularly suitable for applicants with some healthcare experience and who have a particular interest in remote and rural working.
You will have the opportunity to work in a ‘state of the art’ department with a friendly team including Radiographers and Sonographers dedicated to providing a high quality Radiographic service to the Western Isles population.
The post holder will provide direct patient care, ensure a clean and hygienic working environment and prepare for and assist with general and specialised Radiological procedures, including biopsies and drainages.
The post holder will carry out general duties such as reception, booking patients into the Radiology Information System, answering the telephone and assisting in maintaining agreed stock levels of consumable items.
The post will be based at the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, with occasional visits to the Uist and Barra Hospital in Benbecula to provide chaperoning duties for ultrasound clinics.
The successful applicants will be required to register with the Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme).
