Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for clinical care support workers to develop a career in the NHS as a clinical care support worker at Bedfordshire NHS Trust. Being a clinical care support worker is a career you can take pride in while helping people and contributing to their improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Admit patients for a variety of surgical procedures and escalate any concerns in relation to the patient’s suitability for surgery to qualified nurse colleagues.
  • Assist the registered nurse in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.
  • Attend to aspects of patient personal hygiene and support patient comfort before and after procedures.
  • Record observations and report any concerns to the registered nurse related to patient condition, cleanliness, hazards and safety within the clinical area.
  • Maintain patient tissue integrity and ensure the equipment and environment are clean and in good working order.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and the general public; demonstrate both oral and written communication skills.
  • Participate in the induction of staff new to the clinical area and contribute to a positive patient experience.
  • Minimise hazards in the working area and report identifiable hazards to the line manager; adhere to safe systems of work applicable to the area.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times and promote awareness of adult protection issues.
