Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Assistants to join the team in Acute Medicine at The Princess Royal Hospital. The Acute floor consists of an Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Acute Medical Assessment (AMA) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), which is a seated area for patients who are referred requiring a medical assessment but may go home the same day. AMU/AMA and SDEC is a fast-paced environment in which patients are assessed and treated for a variety of medical conditions before being sent home or on to a specialist ward. Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-focused care in a fast-paced acute medicine environment, supporting medical staff and ensuring patient safety and dignity.
  • Deliver compassionate care, effective communication and high-quality observation as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with basic clinical tasks as directed and participate in induction and ongoing training.
  • Contribute to a stimulating and supportive clinical environment with opportunities for learning and development.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Requisite qualifications as detailed in the person specification.
  • Where qualifications are not held, be prepared to complete the simple in-house Numeracy and Literacy assessments.
