Job summary
The role of Clinical Specialist; Safeguarding is a key role within Devon Partnership Trust providing safeguarding leadership across both child and adult safeguarding domains, leading complex enquiries and working closely with partner agencies.
The role includes active contribution to developing learning from safeguarding adults reviews, domestic homicide reviews and child practice reviews, alongside the delivery of training and close work with our multi-agency partner colleagues.
Main duties of the jobThe safeguarding team in the Trust offers a duty function- contributing to multi-agency triage of safeguarding concerns through the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub and liaison with Local Authority Safeguarding Adults teams alongside provision of advice and supervision to clinicians of all disciplines within the Trust.
Providing leadership on the implementation of change, ensuring the embedding of a think-family culture and improving compliance with legislative frameworks are all key aspects of the work alongside supporting clinicians who are leading individual safeguarding enquiries. The post-holder will lead complex safeguarding adults enquiries and contribute as required to large-scale organisational abuse enquiries.
The post-holder will be working in a wide variety of clinical contexts, supporting clinicians working with adults and older adults and individuals with both mental health and/or learning disabilities and will contribute to the development of policies and training
