Job Overview

Based within the MSK physiotherapy outpatient department at County Community Hospital, we seek a dynamic and highly skilled Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist. You should have experience in all aspects of musculoskeletal management, demonstrate forward-thinking skills to combine highly specialist clinical practice with innovation, and be committed to following best practice and promoting high-quality physiotherapy services.

As a clinical specialist, you will have leadership qualities, excellent communication and time management skills, and proven ability to build networks across sites and disciplines. You will be expected to advise on and inform strategic planning and future service development through your knowledge of emerging clinical advances within the specialty.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within the musculoskeletal physiotherapy team, providing clinical leadership and support for staff. They will conduct clinical assessments and treatments as required by service demands at County Community Hospital. Support will be provided by a consultant Physiotherapist and Clinical Lead Physiotherapists. The service encourages staff development through training, clinical audit, research, supervision, and mentoring. A structured appraisal system with annual reviews is in place.

Experience

Essential:

  • Significant experience at Band 6 within MSK and orthopedics.
  • Senior postgraduate clinical experience with complex case management.
  • Experience in people management, clinical and organizational audit, teaching, guideline development, supervising staff, and presenting to audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently at a senior level.

Desirable:

  • Experience in Primary Care, research, working with medical practitioners, and contributing to service development.
  • Published work and UK HCPC registration experience.
Education

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy, postgraduate clinical education, and completion of Clinical Educators’ Course.

Desirable

  • MSc or higher qualification, interest group participation, advanced practice skills, and accredited advanced assessment courses.
