Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist - Stroke and Neuro

Job Overview

The successful candidate will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and rehabilitation for stroke and neuro rehab patients within The Rowan Rehab ward at Yeatman Hospital in Sherborne. This specialist rehab ward serves west Dorset, accepting patients from Dorset County Hospital and Yeovil hospital acute stroke units.

The Therapy team at Rowan Rehab is part of the Dorset County Hospital therapy team. There will be an expectation to collaborate with DCH for supervision and to maintain strong links with the acute therapy team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver highly specialist assessment and rehabilitation for stroke and neuro patients.
• Develop and demonstrate advanced therapeutic skills.
• Take on leadership roles, including operational management and service delivery for the Occupational Therapy team.
• Work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Speech & Language Therapists, and Therapy Support Workers.
• Participate in service development, evaluation, training, supervision, audits, and research.

Qualifications and Skills

Relevant experience in neuro and stroke rehabilitation, leadership abilities, and a commitment to high-quality patient care are essential.
