Role Summary

To actively lead and manage the multiple sclerosis service across Northern services and support wider MS team across RDUH. To provide a specialist clinical and educational role to all areas of the Trust in relation to multiple sclerosis care. To coordinate and provide clinical cover in in-patient and out-patient areas.

This is a cross-site role, based at North Devon District Hospital with the option to work at RDE according to service need to support MS patients across the trust.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced practitioner to lead the multiple sclerosis service and caseload. You will be managing a small team working alongside clinical teams to lead the development of the service, in addition to teaching and promoting exemplary care for patients with multiple sclerosis, primarily in North Devon but extending to the surrounding areas.

Accountable to the Clinical Matron, you will provide expert education and advice at strategic and operational level to promote patient-centred quality care.

We are looking for an individual with excellent leadership, liaison, teaching and reporting skills, as well as proven experience working with patients with long term conditions as a clinical specialist, in particular multiple sclerosis. You will work collaboratively with clinical teams, learning and development and other professionals across the Trust.

We are looking for a registered healthcare professional with prior experience as a clinical specialist; experience working with patients with multiple sclerosis is preferred but not essential as full training and supervision will be provided. Ability to travel to other locations as required.
