Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Services:
* Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms following established guidelines and protocols.
* Assist radiologists in breast biopsies, localizations, and other interventional procedures.
* Ensure imaging accuracy and clarity for optimal diagnostic interpretation.
Quality Assurance:
* Implement and monitor quality control programs to maintain equipment performance and image quality.
* Ensure compliance with national standards and guidelines such as the Mammography Quality Standards Act or equivalent.
* Conduct regular audits to assess and improve service delivery.
* Provide empathetic and respectful care, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
* Address patient concerns and provide education about mammography and related procedures.
Leadership and Training:
* Mentor and support junior radiographers, providing guidance in clinical techniques and protocols.
* Lead training sessions to ensure staff proficiency with new equipment and techniques.
* Assist in performance reviews and competency assessments for mammography staff.
Operational Management:
* Schedule and coordinate mammography services to optimize workflow and minimize patient wait times.
* Manage stock levels of consumables and accessories required for mammography services.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance clinical services.
Professional Development:
* Stay up-to-date with advancements in mammography technology and techniques.
* Attend workshops, conferences, and training as needed to maintain professional competency.
* Promote continuous professional development among the team.
