Job description

Acumed Ltd.

As part of the global industrial organization Marmon Holdings, backed by Berkshire Hathaway, you'll be doing meaningful work, leading at every level, and striving for excellence. We are committed to making a positive impact on the world, offering diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone is empowered to excel.

The ideal candidate will reside in or near Bristol or Reading.

The primary role of a Clinical Specialist is to facilitate the use of Acumed products within the theatre environment.

Key skills include expert product and anatomical knowledge, a solid understanding of orthopedic principles, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will support, consult, and train surgeons and theatre teams on the use of Acumed products before, during, and after surgical procedures, providing guidance to aid clinical decision-making at each stage.

Acumed products are used in NHS and private hospitals on a consignment and loan basis. Ensuring the surgical team has the correct equipment for each patient is crucial. As a Clinical Specialist, you will manage your assigned hospital accounts daily, including inventory audits, stock replenishment, loan kit bookings, and ensuring implants and instruments are ready and accessible.

You will act as the interface between Acumed and the clinical setting, gaining insight into clinical team challenges and translating this into strategic solutions. Using excellent communication, observational, and analytical skills, you will collect and interpret clinically-based, customer-centric information and communicate it to the Regional Sales Manager. Building and maintaining strong networks and relationships is vital to promoting value-based healthcare, and you will play a key role in this process.

  • Achieve all KPIs set by your line manager and/or Directors, aligned with business and role demands.
  • Provide case coverage, including advising on the application of the Acumed portfolio.
  • Have a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology.
  • Interface effectively between customers and the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Guide clinical decisions for both new and existing customers.
  • Train theatre staff.
  • Understand and adhere to hospital and theatre policies.
  • Attend regional symposiums and represent the Acumed brand.
  • Manage inventory and conduct audits.
  • Maintain up-to-date CRM records.
  • Support business requirements with flexible working hours.
  • Work successfully as part of a team.
  • Maintain all Acumed equipment, including laptops, mobile phones, and audit tools.
  • Complete all administrative duties promptly.
  • Possess a basic understanding of anatomy and physiology.
  • Demonstrate good time management skills.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Be self-motivated and eager to learn.
  • Hold a full driving license for at least 3 years.
  • Have intermediate computer skills (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Possess basic IT knowledge.

Following a conditional employment offer, candidates will need to complete additional screening processes as required by law.
