Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Nursing Associate/Assistant Practitioner within the SMI Physical Health/Clozapine Service has arisen.

Working with the Qualified staff and Pharmacy Technicians to ensure that Service Users who attend the clinic receive the appropriate care in a timely and safe manner - whilst providing person centred care.

You will be a qualified Phlebotomist with previous experience of working with Service Users who present with mental health needs.

Main duties of the job
  • To take blood tests as requested by medical staff and ensure bloods are correctly processed within the requisite time limits.
  • The post holder will have recognised, extensive and substantively proven holistic approach to the care of Service Users with significant mental health needs.
  • The nursing associate will be able to demonstrate their enhanced knowledge and extensive experience of mental health to help support other healthcare professionals in a designated clinical environment.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Care certificate or completed within first 12 weeks of start date, or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Diploma in healthcare with clinical experience, or relevant equivalent qualification
  • Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care / Mental Health or Apprenticeship in H&SC / Mental Health
Experience
  • Working with Service Users with mental health needs.
  • Working within Multidisciplinary Team (MDT)/ Working knowledge and understanding of CPA process
  • Driving licence and ability to travel independently
