We have a rare opportunity within the HYMS Clinical Skills Facilitator team at HUTH for a registered health professional to join our team where we can offer you a change of direction in your career.

This opportunity will allow you to develop your teaching and assessment skills within a well-established, friendly, supportive team. With your clinical knowledge and approachable personality, you will use your skills and experience to help facilitate the education of our future Doctors and Physician Associates.

Main duties of the job
  • Creating and delivering high quality procedural skills teaching and assessments to student doctors and student physician associates
  • Monitoring students' skills acquisition using IT systems
  • Supporting students to achieve the requirements of the GMC's skills curriculum as set out in their documentation available online
  • Offering pastoral support to students as required
Requirements
  • Experience of creating and delivering evidence based teaching packages including using technology enhanced learning resources, supported by relevant qualifications
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn to use new IT systems
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and electronic
  • Ability to role model professional behaviour
  • The drive to constantly elevate teaching standards to ensure maximum learning retention and improve the student and patient experience and clinical outcomes.

Qualifications
  • First level registration with NMC or equivalent

Experience
  • 4 years post registration experience
  • Evidence of ongoing CPD
Knowledge and Audit/Research
  • Awareness of current local priorities for HYMS, nursing and MDT learning

  • Ability to produce recommendations post audit and develop action plans
  • Awareness of current local and international NHS agenda
  • Previous experience of participation in audit projects
