Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 9-5

The Directorate of Medical Education is seeking to recruit a skilled technician to join the team. The post holder will be based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary but will work on all sites as required by the nature of this pan NHSGGC role. The post holder will work as part of the Clinical Skills and Simulation team and wider Medical Education team to support the delivery of clinical skills and simulation courses across NHSGGC.

This will include setting up the daily technical elements of courses using a range of equipment and supplies. They will provide support with a range of administrative functions to ensure the smooth running of clinical skills and simulation-based training and education.

The post holder will also assist in a range of technical and digital projects and functions to support the wider Directorate objectives. The post holder will be educated to HNC or SVQ111 level or will have relevant practical experience in a healthcare setting. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential for this role.

This is a NHSGGC role, and the successful candidate will be required to provide direct support on multiple sites. The transfer of portable equipment and supplies between sites will also be required and the postholder must therefore be able and willing to travel to and between NHSGGC sites to work effectively in this role.
