Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay seeks a Clinical Site Manager for Furness General Hospital to oversee clinical and operational management on a day-to-day basis. You will make quick decisions to optimise patient flow, following policies and protocols, and will be the first point of contact for external enquiries.

You will work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with leadership responsibilities across a busy elective and general surgical ward.

Qualifications

• Nurse with Band 6 leadership experience.
• Evidence of change initiatives and leadership development.
• Experience in rostering, budgets and procurement.
• Experience in managing risk/complaints.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a busy elective and general surgical ward.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to maintain service delivery.
• Provide development and support to staff; seven-day shift pattern.

An exciting opportunity has arose for a full time Clinical Site Manager at Furness General Hospital. This role is to oversee the clinical and operation management of the hospital on a day to day basis. You will work closely with all divisions to ensure national targets are sustained. We are looking at the successful candidate todemonstratethe skills, knowledge and relevant experience required, to lead and manage a busy elective and general surgical ward, withthe supportofstrong and committed multi-disciplinary teams across both areas.,

• 1st level Registered Nurse
• Mentoring/assessing qualification or teaching qualification eg City & Guilds, Professional Trainers Certificate
• At least 2 years experience at band 6 level
• Evidence of change - Project initiatives and evidence of improving care, Recent leadership development or willingness to work towards a leadership qualification
• Experience of managing rosters/budgets/procurement
• Experience of managing risk/ complaints/grievances.
  We operatefrom three main hospitals - Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), FurnessGeneral Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well asa number ofcommunity healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

RLI and FGH have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. WGHprovidesa range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threateningconditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. All three main hospitalsprovidea range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay. Our community services for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, communityhospitalsand our main hospitals.
