Job description

Building on our track record of delivering pioneering research, EMS Healthcare is recruiting Clinical Site Facilitator on a fixed-term basis to support clinical research projects. You will work in state-of-the-art mobile Community Research Units across the UK, enabling the delivery of ground-breaking trials directly within local communities.

As a Clinical Site Facilitator, you will be instrumental in delivering key clinical trial activities including participant interaction, site and data management, and general clinical support. This role offers a unique opportunity to travel, engage diverse communities, and play a vital part in advancing medical research.

You will collaborate with the wider Clinical Operations Team and other internal functions to ensure efficient, high-quality delivery of clinical trials.

Location: Greater Manchester

3 Year Fixed Term Contract

Monday-Friday 37.5 hours

Salary Range (depending on experience) - £30K-£33K

Main Duties

  • Oversee the daily operational activities of assigned Community Research Units to ensure smooth clinical delivery in line with trial protocols, SOPs, and GCP.
  • Facilitate participant interactions including consent discussions, data collection, and trial-related procedures while maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Perform administrative duties including documentation, record keeping, scheduling, and maintenance of participant logs and study files.
  • Support clinical staff with logistical and operational site needs, ensuring compliance with trial protocols and healthcare regulations.
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and other on-site resources to support uninterrupted delivery of clinical trials.
  • Contribute to the setup, conduct, and close-out of studies as per regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, internal teams, and external partners to ensure seamless coordination and resolution of issues.

Experience – Essential

  • Education to GCSE Level (grade C or above) in English and Maths.
  • Previous Healthcare /Research experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, participant-centred approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of clinical care.
  • Basic Life Support (Adult) certified.
  • Proficient in basic office software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in following protocols and SOPs.

Experience – Preferable

  • Prior experience working in research or mobile/community healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation and sample handling protocols.

  • Ability to manage workload in a mobile and fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptable and proactive, with a flexible and can-do attitude.

Other Requirements

  • Full UK residency and a valid UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel across regions at short notice to support studies.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including early starts and occasional late finishes.
