Job summary

An opportunity hasarisen for the position of clinical sister ward 1 Chester le street Community Hospital. If you enjoy working in abusy environment, have excellent inter-personal skills and are committed toproviding the highest quality care for our patients then we look forward toreceiving your application form. We area busy 23 bedded rehabilitation unit which is nurse and therapy led. Ensuringan intergrated approach for the benefit of out patients

As a team we strive towards delivering a highstandard of care and this is reflected in the feedback we receive from thepatients and relatives who have had experience of being on our ward.

Main duties of the job

Ward 1 is a 23 bedded elderly rehabiltation ward. We accept patients from the acute wards,direct from accident and emergency and from other organisations.

To supervise, support and educate junior members of theteam, acting as a role model.

Support ward/department manager to ensure organisationalgoals/objectives are met within ward/department and policies are adhered too

When taking charge of the ward/department or in the absenceof the ward/department manager, is directly responsible for ensuring thatclinical, professional and cleanliness standards are maintained in the entireward/department.

To ensure effective communication internally and externally,regarding patient care and resources

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
