Clinical Services Manager – Small Animal Vet

Location: Godalming, Surrey

The Role:

  • Our client is seeking an exceptional Veterinary Surgeon to manage and organise their practice, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • The role involves working in partnership with key management team members to deliver a professional service to clients, patients, and their referring veterinarians.
  • The candidate will provide leadership and support to the clinical team, ensuring high standards of patient care and team wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for clinical operations quality, managing scheduling, resource allocation, and efficient workflow.
  • Ensuring excellent communication and service to referring veterinarians and clients.
  • Direct line management responsibility for Head Nurse, Rehabilitation Team Leader, Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Team Leader, and Clinical Resource Co-ordinator.
  • Matrix management responsibility for senior clinicians, registrars, residents, and interns.
  • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance protocols and conducting regular audits of hospital processes and clinical facilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with the RCVS Guide to Professional Conduct and related professional requirements.
  • Supporting the hospital team with ethical requirements and ensuring both professional and support staff fulfill these responsibilities.

Candidate Requirements:

  • RCVS registered vet with experience in managing large teams.
  • Proven ability in effective decision-making and leading large teams, preferably in a veterinary environment.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with flexibility.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to support a 24/7 team environment.
