Job summary

The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to join its senior management team. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours weekly with a flexible shift pattern and a competitive salary depending on experience, training and qualification.

You will lead the clinical governance agenda, ensure high-quality care, and maintain regulatory compliance across hospital services while providing visible leadership and on-call clinical support.

Qualifications

• NMC or HCPC-registered healthcare professional with extensive senior leadership experience.
• Experience in clinical governance, risk management, and quality improvement.
• Strong understanding of regulatory standards (CQC, NICE, NMC, HCPC).
• Excellent leadership, communication and change management.
• Proven ability to lead investigations and embed learning from incidents and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead the clinical governance agenda to ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and professional standards.
• Provide visible leadership and clinical on-call support as the senior advisor on clinical matters within the hospital.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing of patients and a high-quality, safe clinical environment.
• Maintain professional standards with regulatory bodies (NMC, HCPC, GMC, etc.).
• Ensure safe staffing levels with appropriate skill mix and staff competency.
• Lead hospital participation in internal and external audits with timely actions.
