This post has a pivotal role in shaping and leading services that sit at the heart of urgent mental health care delivery. You will be responsible for three key services within the pathway: the Enhanced Home Treatment Team (Night Function), Wandsworth Home Treatment Team, and the Mental Health Crisis Line. This is a unique leadership portfolio that combines service innovation with established clinical delivery, enabling you to embed excellence in existing teams and lead the development of new models of care.

You will provide clear operational and clinical leadership, drive quality and performance, and ensure services are safe, responsive, and person-centred. Working closely with the Clinical Manager, your leadership will influence the experience of service users and carers across the crisis pathway. The scope of the portfolio may evolve as services redesign progresses within the Trust's Crisis Pathway Redesign Programme.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for the HTT Night Function, Wandsworth HTT, and the Mental Health Crisis Line.
  • Ensure safe, effective, high-quality service delivery in line with Trust policies, CQC standards, and national guidance.
  • Oversee workforce management including rostering, supervision, appraisal, and staff wellbeing.
  • Lead on performance monitoring using KPIs and clinical data to track quality and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to ensure services align with the Crisis Pathway Redesign Programme; recognise that the portfolio scope may change as services evolve.
  • Foster partnerships with service users, carers, acute trusts, community teams, emergency services, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within teams.
  • Ensure robust governance and risk management systems, including incident reporting, safeguarding, and clinical audit.
  • Represent services at internal and external meetings, providing assurance on quality and performance to senior leaders.
  • Model compassionate and inclusive leadership in line with the Trust values.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience of working at a senior clinical or management level.
  • Experience of managing a clinical team and supervising staff.
  • Experience of planning, implementing, and evaluating services; service development/review and leading change.
  • Experience of policy development and implementation within a team; managing finances and budgeting.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent; professional qualification; evidence of post-registration CPD relevant to the post.
  • Desirable: professional management qualification (diploma or higher), project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2), and/or postgraduate qualification in service improvement or healthcare leadership.
