NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit a Clinical Secretary to Gynaecology Consultant in a busy department providing specialist care to women throughout Lanarkshire.

The Clinical Secretary will provide comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently and work in accordance with standard operating procedures.

What we'll need you to bring

  • SVQ level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus at least 2 years knowledge in healthcare administration or at least 3 years knowledge in a secretarial role
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
  • Evidence of strong communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment for 6 months

Part Time

22.2 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

Please note this is a fixed term post for 6 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Gynaecology within University Hospital Monklands.

The working pattern for this role: Hours to be worked over 4 days in AM
