Job description
Overview

ESNEFT is one of the largest radiotherapy providers in the East of England, delivering treatments to over 3000 patients per year across Ipswich and Colchester sites. Ipswich Hospital are looking for a Clinical Scientist in Radiotherapy.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in a broad range of radiotherapy physics activities including quality assurance of radiotherapy treatment equipment, treatment planning, and providing assistance with computing throughout the department.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues within a multi-disciplinary team of physicists, engineers, radiographers and clinicians.
  • Assist in the provision of the Radiotherapy Physics Service (external beam radiotherapy and molecular radiotherapy) at Ipswich Hospital under the overall responsibility of the Lead for Radiotherapy Physics and the Head of Radiation Services.
  • Participate in research and development activity.
Department and Facilities

Ipswich Hospital is equipped with 3 TrueBeam multi-modality linear accelerators delivering VMAT, FFF and SABR techniques, and an Ethos linear accelerator with Hypersight imaging. The department has a virtual Aria environment using Varian cloud, and treatment plans are produced with the Eclipse treatment planning system. A Phillips Big Bore CT scanner with TumorLoc virtual simulation system and AI volume delineation, plus dedicated MR scanning slots for radiotherapy, are in use. We work closely with nuclear medicine to deliver a molecular radiotherapy service.
