An exciting opportunity for HCPC-registered Clinical Scientists to join the Cytogenetics and Molecular Haematology Department at Barts Health NHS Trust. The role involves working within a diagnostic cancer genomics laboratory, utilizing excellent genomic analysis skills and engaging in whole genome sequencing analysis. The position requires a strong understanding of cancer genomics and participation in the duty rota, ensuring high-quality pathology services in London. Applications are invited from enthusiastic and self-motivated HCPC-registered Clinical Scientists (cancer genomics or molecular) to join the Cytogenetics and Molecular Haematology Department.
The successful applicant will need to have experience of working within a diagnostic cancer genomics laboratory and have a strong understanding of cancer genomics. The candidate must have excellent genomic analysis skills with experience of analysing a range of cancer types. Experience of NGS and WGS analysis and reporting is advantageous. The post holder will be required to participate on the duty scientist rota and will contribute to the maintenance of the quality management system. The post holder will be trained in the analysis and reporting of whole genome sequencing (WGS) as part of the nationally commissioned WGS service
The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health.
The Pathology Partnership was formed in May 2021. Between 2021 and 2024 the Partnership undertook a complex transformation programme to establish a single network of laboratories, underpinned by a single Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and single Quality Management System (QMS).
The Partnership has a main hub laboratory at the Royal London Hospital and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) as a minimum at the six other hospital sites served by the Partnership.
