Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust seeks enthusiastic Clinical Scientists to join the Genomics laboratory (Haemato-Oncology Cytogenetics Team) delivering high-quality diagnostic service and translational development. You will interpret complex results, advise on actions for patients, and contribute to MT meetings as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Appointments may be at AFC band 6 until registration if not yet HCPC registered or in training.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration or on a recognised training programme leading to registration.
• Experience in diagnostic laboratory genetics and reporting.
• Ability to interpret results and advise on patient/family action.

Responsibilities

• Apply highly specialist genetic skills and troubleshoot assays.
• Regular literature review to keep procedures current.
• Process samples, perform IQC, analysis, reporting of results.
• Interpret and explain results with recommendations for patients.
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to provide clinical opinions.
