The Synnovis Cancer Genetics laboratory at Guy’s Hospital is part of the South East Genomics Laboratory Hub (SEGLH) and is the designated provider of adult solid tumour testing for the entire SEGLH region. The service is undergoing large-scale expansion and transformation to ensure equitable access to the NHSE National Genomic Test Directory for Cancer.
Main duties include:
The Synnovis Genetics Laboratory at Guy’s is the hub for the SEGLH Network, led by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTfT). The Cancer Genetics team comprises around 50 staff across cytogenetic and molecular genetic laboratories. Testing services include diagnostics for various adult solid tumours and haematological malignancies, providing diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment information. The service features a renowned AML minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring service with links to the King’s College NIHR clinical trials AML MRD unit.
