Join to apply for the Clinical Scientist role at Synnovis.

The Synnovis Cancer Genetics laboratory at Guy’s Hospital is part of the South East Genomics Laboratory Hub (SEGLH) and is the designated provider of adult solid tumour testing for the entire SEGLH region. The service is undergoing large-scale expansion and transformation to ensure equitable access to the NHSE National Genomic Test Directory for Cancer.

Main duties include:

1. Providing analytical support within the cancer team for haemato-oncology and solid tumour referrals.
2. Applying sound knowledge of laboratory genetics and experience working within a cancer genetic team.
3. Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of cancer genomics.
4. Communicating effectively with staff within Cancer Genetics at Guy’s Hospital and the wider SEGLH team.

The Synnovis Genetics Laboratory at Guy’s is the hub for the SEGLH Network, led by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTfT). The Cancer Genetics team comprises around 50 staff across cytogenetic and molecular genetic laboratories. Testing services include diagnostics for various adult solid tumours and haematological malignancies, providing diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment information. The service features a renowned AML minimal residual disease (MRD) monitoring service with links to the King’s College NIHR clinical trials AML MRD unit.

Additionally, staff can apply for funding via the Innovation Accelerator Fund for innovative projects and participate in scientific symposiums, conferences, and peer meetings.
